He attended the United States Military Academy, where he majored in mechanical engineering.
Military Service and Legal Career
Pompeo served as a cavalry officer in the United States Army from 1986 to 1991.
After graduating from West Point, he earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He went on to practice law at the firm Williams & Connolly.
