Maui-born former SEAL honored for action in Vietnam

Navy SEAL Philip "Moki" Martin, center, was promoted to chief warrant officer by Cdr.

John Chamberlain, skipper of the submarine USS Grayback, on June 1, 1972. Four days later, Martin would embark on an ill-fated rescue mission off North Vietnam that would claim the life of SEAL Lt. Melvin Dry, left.
