Nasir Ahmad el-RufaiCON (Listen^ⓘ; born 16 February 1960)^[2] is a Nigerian politician who served as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023.^[3] He had served as minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2003 to 2007.

El-Rufai also served as director of the Bureau of Public Enterprises.^[4] He is a founding member of the ruling party All Progressives Congress.^[5]

Early life, education and career

Childhood and education

Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai was born on 16 February 1960 to a Fulani family in Daudawa.

His father died while he was eight years old, and he was sponsored through his early schooling by an uncle.^[6]
